Aluminum foil lamination is basically the use of plastic extrusion bonding to combine aluminum foil rolls or sheets with one or more other materials (such as paper and plastic film). The resulting product is a sandwich of three or more layers, such as foil/plastic extrusion material/another material. In most cases, aluminum foil is laminated on a roll-fed rotary device. The equipment also often includes a coating unit for coloring or otherwise pre-coating the aluminum foil.
Main characteristics of aluminum foil laminates:
1. Excellent barrier properties: Aluminum foil has extremely high barrier properties, which can effectively prevent the penetration of oxygen, moisture, light and odor, and protect the quality of the contents.
2. Lightweight and high strength: The composite structure has both lightweight and high strength characteristics, which is suitable for application scenarios with special requirements for weight and strength.
3. Good corrosion resistance: The naturally formed aluminum oxide layer on the surface of aluminum foil provides excellent corrosion resistance
4. Excellent processability: Aluminum foil is soft and easy to process, easy to compound with a variety of materials, and can realize processes such as folding, stamping and cutting.
5. Environmentally friendly and recyclable: The aluminum material in the aluminum foil laminate can be recycled and reused to reduce the impact on the environment.
Manufacturing process of aluminum foil laminate
1. Preparation of aluminum foil and substrate: The thickness of aluminum foil is usually 6~200 microns, and the substrate can be polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET), kraft paper or non-woven fabric, etc.
Coating and bonding: Use adhesive or hot melt process to firmly bond the aluminum foil to the substrate.
Composite and curing: Heat and pressurize the laminator to form a solid whole of each layer of material.
Subsequent processing: including cutting, forming and surface treatment to meet specific application requirements.
Application of aluminum foil lamination:
Packaging field: used for packaging of food, medicine and cosmetics to extend shelf life and maintain product quality.
Construction field: as thermal insulation material, roof lining and waterproof barrier, it has heat insulation, moisture resistance and durability.
Electronic field:used in the manufacture of cable sheaths, shielding materials and capacitors to prevent electromagnetic interference and provide stable performance.
Aviation and Transportation:applied to lightweight, high-strength structural parts and thermal and sound insulation materials to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
